2010 looks like it will be a year of growth and excitement for us at Arcadia and we hope it’s a great year for you too.
We have invested in new energy-efficient designs for our greenhouses, we’ve engineered a new scissor-truss frame that allows us to span widths up to 24 feet without support posts, we’ve added a new line of hydroponic products, and our new “AskJen” blog will help answer your questions about growing orchids in a beautiful new Arcadia greenhouse.
Our high-clarity, triple-wall polycarbonate is now standard on all our polycarbonate greenhouses. This product has performed extremely well for us, and with two pockets of dead air space the energy efficiency is almost as good as double-pane glass at about half the cost. It diffuses the light evenly, without burn, and it is not showing any signs of discoloration. For customers who prefer the look of clear glass, many are having us install glass on the front or side of the greenhouse that is most visible, and then our triple-wall polycarbonate on the other sides. The best of both worlds.
We’ve engineered a unique scissor-truss frame that will span widths from 16 to 24 feet without additional support posts or collar ties. This welded aluminum frame is engineering rated at 35 pounds per square foot snowloads and 95 mph wind gusts. It can be increased to 55 pounds per square foot snowloads where necessary.
We’ve had fun growing some of our own orchids and vegetables in hydroponics this past year and we think you’ll have fun too. It’s easier than you might think and the plants grow amazing root systems. Click here to see our new hydroponic products.
Our new “AskJen” blog is written for you. We’ve posted answers to some of our most popular questions and we encourage you to ask us an orchid or greenhouse question and one of our horticulturists will answer you. (Yes, Jen is a real person.) Click here to visit our blog or call us at 888-437-0022.
